I heard on the radio this morning that 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was waterboarded 183 times during the month of March 2003. That’s an average of 6 times a day. 8 times a day if they gave him weekends off.
I can’t work up much sympathy for him because I think he’s a really bad guy.
But it does seem to me that if waterboarding actually works, you’d find out the first or second time you did it to someone, not on the 183rd.
I’m going to agree with you here. 24 is a great show.
But seriously. Maybe there’s a different technique we didn’t try? Or is that “outside the box” type of thinking discouraged… even by our best torturers?
